IT Security is the process of implementing measures and systems designed to securely protect and safeguard information (business and personal data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures, multimedia presentations, including those not yet conceived) utilizing various forms of technology developed to create, store, use and exchange such information against any unauthorized access, misuse, malfunction, modification, destruction, or improper disclosure, thereby preserving the value, confidentiality, integrity, availability, intended use and its ability to perform their permitted critical functions.

There is a few prerequisites for GUI Development module.
- You should have a working knowledge of your computer and Operating system.
- Know how to use the directory system of your computer so that you can navigate through folders.
- Understand how to locate, save, and open files.
- Know how to use your mouse to access menus and commands.

- Understand the key concepts relating to the importance of secure information and data, physical security, privacy and identity theft
- Protect a computer, device, or network from malware and unauthorized access
- Understand the types of networks, connection types, and network specific issues, including firewalls
- Browse the World Wide Web; communicate on the Internet securely
- Understand security issues related to communications, including e-mail and instant messaging
- Backup and restore data appropriately and safely; securely dispose of data and devices
